Hey everyone — good news worth sharing for anyone wondering about the long game. (Full article at the bottom, as always.)
New research shows Wegovy (semaglutide) produces significant, sustained results for at least four years. Not four weeks. Four YEARS of maintained weight loss.
Why does this matter so much? Because the number-one skepticism we hear is some version of "sure, but doesn't everyone just gain it back?" And fair enough — that's exactly what happens with diets. But this data says the medication-plus-support model is different: people who stay on treatment keep the weight off, year after year.
Two more findings buried in the same research that deserve attention. First, the cardiovascular benefits showed up REGARDLESS of how much weight was lost — the heart protection isn't just a side effect of getting thinner. Second, the benefit curve keeps rewarding consistency: the people who stayed the course kept getting the protection.
Now the honest translation from 1,300+ patients at our clinics: "staying on treatment" is doing all the work in that sentence. Four-year results belong to four-year patients — people with dose management, check-ins, and a plan for when motivation dips at month three. Which, once again, is the entire argument for a real clinic over a vial in the mail.
The long game is winnable. The data says so. You just need a team that's in it with you.
