OMG - it's been 40 years since this weight......

Back in July, I hit a milestone I'd been chasing for a long time: I broke the 200-pound barrier and dropped into the 190s — officially entering "Onederland."
But the journey didn't stop there. I've since passed my original goal of 190 (set at the beginning of 2024, which honestly felt ambitious at the time)... and now I'm in the 180s.
The 180s. I haven't been here since early high school. That was 40 years ago. OMG indeed.
As thrilled as I am, I want to be straight about something: the number isn't really the point anymore. Somewhere along the way, this stopped being about hitting a specific weight and became about what the weight was doing to me — the energy, the joints, the way I move through a workday, the way I feel walking into a room. The scale just keeps score of a much bigger win.
I'm sharing this partly to celebrate (let me have my moment :-) and partly because I know what it's like to read posts like this from the outside. I was the guy who'd tried everything. The guy who'd lost and regained more times than he could count. If that's you right now, reading a clinic blog at midnight wondering if it could ever work for you — I'm not special. I'm just a patient who finally had the right tool and the right support. Same one we offer every person who walks in.
40 years. Still can't quite believe it.
