New Study - 40% of online pharmacies selling Semaglutide/Tirzepatide are illegal operations [Journal American Medical Assoc]

Hello everyone — as clinic director, this is the kind of article I feel obligated to share, because knowing it could genuinely protect your health.

From the Journal of the American Medical Association (August 2024): a full 40% of online pharmacies selling medications like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide are illegal operations. Four in ten. Yikes.

Why this matters: those rogue operations often sell counterfeit, contaminated, or wrongly-dosed medication. You're injecting something into your body weekly — "probably fine, it was cheap" is not a risk framework. There's a reason we wrote a whole post about why your vial should have YOUR name on the prescription label.

The frustrating part is that the internet makes these operations look legitimate. Slick websites, real-seeming reviews, doctors you've never met rubber-stamping prescriptions in states you've never been to. Meanwhile you're trusting an anonymous fulfillment center with your health.

I'll be straight with you, like always: this is exactly why we built a physical clinic. When you come to us, you sit across from real people. Your prescription is written for you, compounded by a pharmacy we know, dispensed in a vial with your name on it, stored properly (refrigerated — always), and if anything seems off, you can walk back through our door and talk to the humans who prescribed it.

After 1,300+ patients, my advice is simple: before you hand ANY online pharmacy your card, ask who prescribed it, where it's compounded, and whether your name is on the vial. If the answers are vague — walk away.
