New Series - Common Patient Questions - #1 - Should I take any supplements?

We are going to start a new series as part of our blog and Facebook. We often get common questions from our patients, that when we hear 5 to 10 times, it becomes an indicator we should probably get some information out to everyone as there are probably a lot more people wondering the same thing.

Here is Question #1 in that series - Now that I'm on Semaglutide or Tirzepatide - are there any supplements I should be taking?

This is a great question - and we asked this to Dr. Vichich to get his opinion and here is what he said and recommends in summary.....

'Yes it is strongly recommended for patients taking GLP-1 medications to consider incorporating supplements into their regimen. Both Semaglutide and Tirzepatide, while effective for weight loss, can potentially lead to nutrient deficiencies due to reduced food intake and altered absorption.

Supplements can help bridge this nutritional gap, ensuring optimal health during the patient's weight loss journey.

Key supplements to consider include multivitamins, vitamin B12, vitamin D, and probiotics. '

Below is a list of 4 of the recommended supplementants that patients should take on a regular basis. You can acquire these at any of your favorite spots (Costco, Walgreens, etc) or if you are interested - we have arranged a partnership with FullScript.com to get PNW Medical Group patients - 10% off the retail price if ordered through our partnership. (Just send us a note and we'll send you the link to ge the discount.)

We will also keep a few bundles of these specific supplements in stock in the clinic so you can grab-and-go with them next time you pick up your meds or come in for your weekly-shot.
